The Bell Tower & the Drum Tower

Some interesting builings in Beijing are toweg. In a central area of Beijing there are two tower, one close to each other: the Bell tower and the Drum tower.

The Bell tower is a more simple buildigns and the name is related to the bell which is inside and was used to indicate time.

To go inside the tower you have very high steps.

The other one is the Drum tower, wich can be seen by the Bell tower. It is a building more in Chines style. Tha name has been given for the presence of 25 drum which are played several time during the day.

Also in this tower there are very high step.

Inside ther is an exposition of instruments used to measure the time, including special incenses or candels that indicated time while burning.

The drums represents the main attractions.

Also today is possible to see when they play the drums, 6 times per day. Unluckly the picture does not make feel the emotion you can feel listening to this exhibitions.

Art District 798 #1

If you like art you have to go to the Art District 798. It is an old factory converted into art discritict. The area is really big and one day os noth enugh to visit all the galleries.

On many road you can find several sculptures, the following ones are only come (few) examples.

Another part is represented by the 751 area. Also this is an old facotry, and many thing are being mantained as the original ones.

One of the most interesting galleries is the following one, hosting artists from Cuba.

Bu unluckly there were also some strange installations... some quite complicated to be undertood.

Some very interesting, like the Thao made with mobile phones.

lso builing are interestig. The following one contained a North Korean posters exhibition.

I had also the opportunity to see a dance exibition: I expected a short thing, instead it was quaite long and very beutiful. The thing thet you see in the scen is a man with 3 pair of arms: you recognizae it?

FInally a light installation of Spiderman!



Temple of Heaven

Temple of Heaven and the sourraunding park are a very beutiful location to spend a day or more. In one day you will probably not have the time to visit evething, as in my case.
Althought this is called a temple, now is no more in use.

Entering the temple you can see, naybe, an area crowd of peole. If you are courious you can go there to see what all these people are doing.

Some for example are doing massages of feet.

But other are parents looking for a boyfriend for their son. They also asked to me if I was interested in having a look in some posts.

Continuaing you can star seeing the something differnt... the tempble, composed by several buildings.

This is is the echo wall... if you try to shout close to the wall you can have a goo echo of your voice, but only when there are not too many people.

The suraaunding par is very big and you can see verry old and beutiful trees. Here some examples.

This one is a juniper of more than 500 years.

Moreover it is possible to meet many people playing instruments or singing. Also this is very nice!

Finally, after a long day nothing better than staying on the grass!
